Organising Your Wardrobe!

Hello Everyone,

I think it's fair to say that we've all got an item of clothing in our wardrobes that we never wear or that we've all probably bought something and never worn it. I know I have. Today, I wanted to give you some tips on sorting through you wardrobe so it's organised and junk-free.

I'll be honest I'm a bit of a hoarder when it comes to clothes. I don't like to get rid of them because I feel like I might wear them again one day. But once I have got rid of them I feel much better and I don't miss them. Here are some tips to help you sort out your wardrobe.

My first tip is if there is something that you're not sure whether to keep or not, keep it and then if you don't wear it within the next 6 months then the likelihood is that you're not going to wear it again so get rid of it.

Another tip is to turn all of your hangers one way and then once you've worn an item of clothing put the hanger the other way. Whatever items of clothing are still the original way after a year you should get rid of because if you haven't worn them in a year then you probably won't wear them again.

Organise your wardrobe into sections. So have coats, then jumper, then t-shirts, then trousers and so on. This will make it much easier to find what you're looking for especially if you're rushing to get ready in the morning.

Organising the sections into colours once they are organised into types will also help you to find the specific item you have in mind. As well as this, it makes your wardrobe look really pretty and well organised.

I know that I've got a couple of items in my wardrobe that I love but I don't have anything that will go with them so I can't wear them. To solve this problem, I have made a list of the type of thing I need to go with them to make an outfit so next time I go shopping or have a bit of spare money and want to treat myself I can go and get what I need and then I'll be able to wear them.

Be ruthless. I know it's hard but try to go with your first thought. If you instantly think 'I haven't worn that in ages and should probably get rid of it' then get rid of it. Once you've put it into the pile of clothes your getting rid of, forget about it so you're not tempted to have it back.

Give them to charity. if you know that your clothes are going to be put to good use and go to help someone it makes it a lot easier to get rid of them. Take them to your nearest charity shop. I'm sure they'll really appreaciate it.

I sorted my wardrobe out the other week & I just found that I had too many clothes and not enough storage. To resolve this problem, I bought some storage boxes that will fit under my bed and I've put all of my summer clothes in them as I won't be needing them for a while but they're still easily accessible if I need them one day. This created so much more room. If you don't have room under your bed for storage, maybe a clothing rail might be a good alternative if you have the room for that. They would be especially good to put coats on as they take up so much space in your wardrobe.

They are all the tips I have for organising your wardrobe. I hope they have helped. Believe me you'll feel so much better for having a cleaner, more organised wardrobe and it will make getting ready so much easier. If you have any tips you would like to share, feel free to leave a comment.

Pretty Perfect x
