Tips for Revision!

Hello Everyone,

I know that a lot of you will be approaching exams soon whether it is GCSE's, A Levels or something else so I thought I would give you some revision tips to help you to relax during this time leading up to exams because I know that it can be a very stressful time.

  1. Start revising early - If you start early you will feel much calmer approaching the exam.
  2. Make a timetable - Make a simple timetable of what you want to revise each day so you know what to do and have allocated enough time for each exam.
  3. Write to-do lists - This means that you know what needs to be done and you can cross it off as you go.
  4. Highlight the most important things - This will attract your attention to the most important things and these will be good for the night before or the morning before the exam because you can just go over the key things.
  5. Stick post-it notes up with key words and phrases on them - This means that you are constantly seeing the most important things which will help you to remember them.
  6. Find Somewhere quite to revise - This way you can be alone and concentrate on what you need to do.
  7. Take regular breaks - If you don't, you might end up getting stressed out
  8. Make Notes - condense your class notes down into key things that are easier to remember.
  9. Read over your class work often.
  10. Eat & Drink plenty - This ensures that you stay focused.
  11. Get plenty of sleep - This is so you can concentrate the next day.
  12. Get rid of any distractions - I know its hard but maybe put your electronics out of sight or in another room to avoid distractions.
  13. Look Online - There are loads of things online that are really helpful, so have a look.
  14. Test Yourself with past papers - You can find them online with the mark schemes and it is really good to experience what the exam is going to be like and go through past questions because there is always a chance a similar one might come up.
  15. Don't Worry - There is no point in worrying because it isn't going to help. Just think about what you can do to make the situation better. This also applies to after the exam; there's no point in worrying about what grade you got. Just wait and see on results day and if you know that you tried your hardest then that's all that matters and there's nothing else you can do.
I hope you have found these tips helpful and if you do have exams soon I hope you do really well. Good Luck. :)
