Quick, Easy & Cheap Halloween Costume Ideas!

 Hello Everyone,

Are you struggling for Halloween costume ideas this year? Would you rather not dress up but feel like you need to make the effort? Don't want to spend loads on a Halloween Costume from the shops? Well, hopefully I can help you with this blog post.

I thought I would give you some simple costume ideas that are cheap, easy and take little effort to put together.

Cat Woman

You will need:
  • Black leggings/ jeans/ trousers/ skirt & tights (it really doesn't matter)
  • A Black T-shirt
  • Cat Ears
  • A Black Eyeliner Pencil
This is such an easy costume to put together. You just need to wear all black. So get yourself some black leggings and a black t-shirt and that's your outfit sorted. Find yourself a headband with cat ears on the top. They sell them in pretty much every supermarket such as Tesco & Asda. They aren't to expensive either. Now all you have to sort out is your make up. It's up to you how much you want to wear but at the very least I would say to get a black eyeliner pencil and draw a cat shaped nose on the tip of your nose and and three lines on your cheeks as whiskers.  You'll look great, I promise.
Zombie

You will need:
  • Black Leggings
  • A White Shirt
  • Fake blood or red food colouring
  • Red Lipstick
This costume is just as easy. Get some black leggings and a white shirt. Rip some holes in the sleeves of the shirt and the leggings. Then you can either buy some fake blood or use red food colouring and dab it all over the shirt to give the effect of blood. Use red lipstick on your face to look like blood. Now onto your hair. If your pretending to be a zombie your hair isn't going to look it's best so I would suggest back combing it to give it a really effective look.

Vampire

You will need:
  • Black Leggings
  • A White Shirt
  • A Cape
  • Fake Vampire Teeth
  • Red Lipstick
  • Red Nail Varnish
The outfit for this costume is easy. All you need is some black leggings and a white shirt. You might need to do a bit of shopping for this costume though. You will need to buy a black cape and some vampire teeth. You get these in most big supermarkets. For your make-up just use the red lipstick to draw blood coming from both corners of your mouth. Paint your nails red for an extra touch then you're ready!

Witch

You will need:
  • Black leggings
  • A Black top
  • A Cape
  • A Witches Hat
  • Black lipstick
  • Black Nail Varnish
You will need to be dressed all in black for this costume so get some black leggings and a black top. Buy a cape and a witches hat from a supermarket. Then just put some black lipstick on and paint your nails black to finish the look off.

I hope you find these ideas helpful. Let me know if you try any of the looks out. Happy Halloween!

Book Review - Love Tanya!

Hello Everyone,

Today I wanted to do a book review because I haven't done one in a while and I do like these types of posts.

Today's book review is Love Tanya by Tanya Burr. I read this book about March time but I haven't got round to doing a book review on it until now.

Tanya Burr is a YouTuber and Blogger who I have watched for a while now. I really enjoy watching her videos and reading her blog so when I found out she was writing a book I knew it would be something I would like to read. I was not disappointed. I really enjoyed the book and I would recommend it to anyone.

I always like to show you the blurb as it describes the book best (obviously) & then you can decide for yourselves whether it is something you might like to read. So here it is...

" Hi everyone and welcome to Love Tanya! This book is really close to my heart, because it's inspired by my journey to becoming confident and feeling happy about who I am. I wanted to write a book to share the things I've learnt with you - to reveal my top tips on fashion, beauty, love, friendship, YouTube...and loads more. Plus, there is room for you to list your own hopes and dreams alongside mine - so get creative and get involved! I'd love it if this book became a keepsake you can turn to whenever you need some guidance or even a little pick me up. I hope you enjoy it! Love, Tanya" - Tanya Burr

I really enjoyed this book. It was really easy to read and it had really interesting life stories as well as useful tips and tricks to do with skin care, hair and beauty. I also really like the baking section of this book and since buying it I have made her recipe for Triple Chocolate Cookies twice which are so tasty. I can't wait to try some of her other recipes.

This book has been given 4.3 out of 5 stars on Amazon so I thought I would include some of the reviews off of the website. Here they are:
  •  I have been a long time subscriber to Tanya's channel on YouTube for years now and am proud to say that I adored this book. The pictures, recipes, personal experiences, etc... were lovely! Well done Tan!
  •  I really like how personal the book is. She shares her stories about love, life, beauty, and fashion. Definitely go checkout her YouTube channel as well
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book so I would definitely recommend reading it. If you would like to purchase it click here to go to somewhere where you can buy it online. If you do read this book let me know if you enjoyed it. If any of you have already read it, what was your favourite chapter? Let me know in the comments.

Places To Visit Near Windermere Part 2!

Hello Everyone,

Here is part to of my blog post about places to visit in and around Windermere. Click here to read part 1.

 Ambleside!

Ambleside is just a short car journey away from Windermere. We didn't spend much time there as when we arrived it started tipping it down with rain. However, it was a really beautiful place and I would have loved to have spent more time there.

How cute are these little boats?

Beatrix Potter World!

Hands up if you used to love Beatrix Potter when you were little. I certainly did so visiting Beatrix Potter World in Winermere was like a little trip down memory lane. It was such a nice little place and you definitely don't need to be a child to enjoy it. Have a look at their website here.

I hope you've enjoyed this post. Have any of you ever been to Windermere? I definitely recommend it.

4 Ways to Save Money!

An inspirational quote to motivate you to start saving!
 Hello Everyone,

Today I wanted to do a blog post that might help some of you who are trying to save money whether it's because you are saving up for something you want to buy or because you just want to spend a little less.

Believe me, I know how tempting it is when you go shopping to just buy everything you like but if you're trying to save money you need to try to resist.

Tip 1 - If you're shopping and you see something you like ask yourself these questions:

"Do I WANT it or NEED it?" If you need it buy it but if you just want it maybe think about resisting this purchase.

"Will I definitely use it?" I have definitely bought things in the past that I really liked and wanted but once I got that item home I never used it so make sure you will definitely use the item before spending your money on it.

Tip 2 - If you're the type of person who can't resist buying things maybe limit your shopping trips so you won't be tempted or only shop when their is something you need to buy. This way you'll still have the pleasure of making a purchase but you won't be wasting your money.

Tip 3 - Set yourself a limit. If you are going shopping set yourself a limit of how much you are going to allow yourself to spend & don't go over it.

Tip 4 - Save any loose change. Get yourself a money box and put any 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, 20p or 50p coins in it. It's surprising how much you can save this way.

I hope these tips help you if you're trying to save money. These are just little ways I try to save so I hope this helps.

Walking With The Wounded!

Hello Everyone,

Talking about charities on my blog is something I have never really done before. I think the reason for this is because a lot of people support different charities for their own personal reasons so they might not be as interested in giving to a charity that they don't know much about.

However, today I wanted to talk about Walking with the Wounded as it is something that I have become quite interested in recently so I wanted to write this post just to make you aware of what it is and what they are doing.

Walking with the wounded was started back in 2010 to raise money to go towards the re-education and re-training of wounded servicemen and women. As it says on their website, many servicemen and women don't expect to leave the armed forces until they get injured. As a result, some of them are not prepared and do not have the necessary skills or confidence to find a job in the civilian world. Therefore, Walking with the Wounded helps to raise the necessary funds to help them gain the skills and confidence to do this.

Since WWTW was established in 2010 they have organised a number of ambitious expeditions incorporating teams of wounded servicemen and women, both those with physical and mental injuries. They have done expeditions to places such as the the North Pole (2011), the South Pole (2013) and Everest (2012). What they do is truly amazing and so so inspiring.

As it says on the WWTW website, their "expeditions aim to inspire those coping with both disability and injury to show that our wounded are capable of leading fulfilling lives. They can achieve at the highest level.  They serve as inspiration to those from all walks of life who are coping, daily, with the challenges of injury, illness and rebuilding their lives"

"Every penny raised goes to helping those in need "

WWTW are currently doing an event called the 'Walk of Britain'. The Walk of Britain expedition is where four British and two US wounded veterans walk 1,000 miles across mainland Britain. It started in Scotland on August 22nd and will finish at Buckingham Palace on November 1st.

The veterans were finishing one of  their walks not far from where I live so I was lucky enough to go along and congratulate them on what they are doing. I got to meet some of the veterans and they were so nice. I think what they are doing is so inspiring.

I just wanted to do this post to raise awareness of what they are doing. If you live in Great Britain you might have heard about them on the News recently regarding the Walk of Britain. I thin this is a really worthy charity and they earn every penny they raise.

If you can and would like to donate to this cause please do. If you're not in a position to donate, then maybe you could share their page on social media or something like that. I didn't write this post to get you all to donate, I wrote it to raise awareness and tell you all about the charity as well as a way of showing my support for the men and women who are part of WWTW. They really do inspire me.

If you are interested in getting involved in some of the things WWTW wounded does then there is plenty for you to do. There is opportunities to become a volunteer for WWTW, support them as they go through their expeditions and also there things you can do on your own, with friends or with family to help raise money for this cause such as Walking Home for Christmas which is another challenge they are doing this Christmas.

Links!

As I've mentioned quite a lot of information in this post I'm going to leave all of the specific links for the different things below in case you want to read a bit more into something. If I have not linked the thing you are looking for just have a look on their website they have all of the information of there.

The PLL Tag!

*THIS POST MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS IF YOU'RE NOT UP TO DATE WITH PRETTY LITTLE LIARS. PLEASE DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU DON'T WANT TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENS*
 Hello Everyone,

As I was scrolling through YouTube today I found a Pretty Little Liars Tag. I am a huge fan of PLL so I thought I would do it as a blog post today.

1. Who is your favourite character?
I would have to say that my favourite character is Hanna because she's just so funny.

2. Who do you think is behind the A-Team?
Obviously I am a bit late doing this tag because we already know who the leader of the A-Team is. However, I would never have guessed that it would be the person it turned out to be.

3. Who do you ship?
When I first started watching PLL I definitely shipped Spoby the most. BUT now I 100% prefer Haleb because I think they are so cute together and they have pretty much been together the whole time.

4.  Favourite Villain?
My favourite villain has to be Mona because she's was so good at being evil when she was A.

5. Who do you think might become a villain?
I have a feeling that Wren might become a villain and play a bigger part because there were clues that he had something to do with the A-Team

6. Who has been the most hurt by A?
I think Emily because of the situation with Maya or Spencer because of when she thought Toby was dead and she was put into Radley because of the stress.

7. Which girl's style do you like the most?
The girl's style I like the most is Emily because I like how her outfits are really simple and casual.

8. Who is your crush on the show?
My crush on the show is Caleb.

9. Who is your least favourite character?
I think my least favourite Liar is probably Spencer because she started to annoy me when it was leading up to when she went into Radley. However, my least favourite character overall is probably Lucas or Wilden because I found both of them annoying.

10. What was the biggest shocking moment for you?
The biggest shocking moment for me has to be when Toby was revealed to be part of the A-Team because I always really liked him and I didn't expect it at all because he had been so loyal to Spencer in the past.

12.What would you do if A was after you?
I would be so scared if A was after me but I think I would tell someone because I wouldn't want to let it go on as long as the Liars have.

So that is my PLL Tag. I have missed some of the questions out because the tag was created before season 6A so the questions didn't apply anymore. I hope you enjoyed this post. Let me know in the comments who your favourte PLL character is. :)

Choosing Your Options!

 Hello Everyone,

I recently did a blog post all about sixth form in which I mentioned a bit about what to consider when you're choosing your subjects. However, as I mentioned in the post I wanted to do a whole blog post on choosing your options because I feel like I could write quite a bit about this. This post will hopefully help any of you who are going to be choosing what subject to take at GCSE or in sixth form in the near future.

It's really important to choose the right subjects for you as you will have to study them for a couple of years. I'm going to tell you a few of the things that I think are important when choosing your options.

You must enjoy the subject - When I was choosing my options at both GCSE and for A-Level whether I enjoyed the subject or not was a big factor for me. The amount of lessons and time you spend studying this subject is going to increase so if you already don't enjoy it then there is no point in taking it. Also if you enjoy a subject you are more likely to be motivated to learn more.

You need to be interested in the subject - This is similar to the last point but you must find your subjects interesting to ensure that you are motivated and want to learn about it. I also find that I retain information better if I find something interesting. If you are considering taking a subject that you haven't studied before which I have done, I think that having an interest in the subject is a very important factor.

You need to be good at the subject - Have a look at your results on old tests from the subject you are interested in and see if you have done well or not. In my opinion there is no point in taking a subject you have been getting poor grades in it because it is only going to get harder. If you are good at a certain subject it's likely that you will be able to do it at a higher level and will be able to cope with the workload.

Think about you best characteristics - Use your strengths when choosing your options. If you think that you are better at coursework than exams then maybe think about taking some BTECs. On the other hand, if you find writing coursework a lot of work them maybe take more subject that are exam-focused.

Choose what is best for you - I personally think that you should only consider yourself when choosing your options as you are the one who is going to have to study them every day. Therefore, except input from family and friends and ask them what they think you're good at but don't let them decide for you. Also, as much as we like to be in classes with our friends it is best to choose subjects that are best for you and not choose them so you can be with your friends.

I think they are all the points I wanted to make today. These are all the factors I considered when choosing my options. I hope you have found this helpful. :)

A Pretty Perfect Schedule!

 Hello Everyone,

For a while now I have been considering setting a timetable for when I blog. I wasn't sure whether to start one or not because I love blogging and wouldn't want to turn it in to a chore. However, after much consideration I have decided that I am going to try to stick to a schedule from now on.

I also wanted to increase the amount of time a blog during a week. Most months I post about 8 blog posts (so about 2 per week) but I want to increase this to about three times per week (so about 12 posts per month).

So here's the plan...From now on I am going to post on a Monday, Wednesday and at some point on the weekend. It could either Saturday or Sunday depending on when I have time.

I hope this schedule works for you guys too. It's just something I want to try out. So this is a test for the next couple of months to see if I like this way of blogging. If not, I'll go back to how I used to blog but I really hope this works.

This isn't going to be a really strict routine. If I don't get to blog on one of the days I'll just make it up to you when I can. Also some weeks there may be more than three posts. Let's just wait and see what happens.

I'm always looking for ways to improve my blog so hopefully this will do exactly that. I'm sorry that this probably wasn't a very exciting blog post but I just wanted to inform you about the changes. I will be posting a more interesting blog later on this evening as it's Wednesday so keep and eye out for that.

Thank you

The Sweater Weather Tag!

Hello Everyone!

I am loving Autumn so much so I thought I would do another Autumn Tag. Here is the Sweater Weather Tag!

1. Favorite candle scent?
I have three favourite candles. The first one is the Yankee Candle Clean Cotton Candle and the second the Hopeman's Original Seafoam and Gorse. I also love the Zoella Beauty Lets Glow candle.

2. Coffee, tea, or hot chocolate?
Definitely tea. I absolutely love tea but I do like the odd hot chocolate now and again during the winter.

3. What's the best fall memory you have?
I always remember the noise of when you kick through the piles of leaves that have fallen off the trees.

4. Which makeup trend do you prefer: dark lips or winged eyeliner?
Definitely darker lips. Winged eyeliner is way too hard to do.

5. Best fragrance for fall?
I don't really change fragrance with the seasons but the fragrance I am loving at the moment is Daisy by Marc Jacobs. I love that perfume.

 6. Favorite part of a roast dinner?
My favourite part of a roast is either the roast potatoes or the Yorkshire puddings.

7. What is autumn weather like where you live?
I live in Britain so there isn't a huge change in weather from Summer to Autumn but it's getting a little bit colder and it seems to be very foggy in the mornings at the moment.

8. Most worn sweater?
My favourite sweater is a pink one which was bought for me for Christmas last year which I believe is from Dorothy Perkins.

9. Must-have nail polish this fall?
I have two, both of which are Barry M Gellys. They are Cocoa and Pomegrante.

10. Football games or jumping in leaf piles?

Jumping in leaf piles. I'm not a huge fan of football if I'm honest.

11. Skinny jeans or leggings?
Skinny jeans especially now that it's getting a bit colder. I just think they're a bit smarter than leggings.

12. Combat boots or Uggs?
To be honest I don't really where either. I am definitely more of a chelsea boot type of girl.

13. Is pumpkin spice worth the hype?
I haven't tried one yet but next time I am near a Starbucks I definitely want to try a Pumpkin Spice Latte

14. Favorite fall TV show?
Apprentice always comes on at this time of year which I love. I also love I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here which comes on right at the end of Autumn.

15. What songs really gets you into the fall spirit?
There aren't really any songs that I associate with Autumn. I usually start listening to Christmas music. I'm trying to resist at the moment though.

I hope you enjoyed this tag. All of the products I have mentioned that are available for you to buy will be linked in the product directory. What's your best Autumn memory? Let me know in the comments.

Places to Visit Near Windermere!

Hello Everyone,

Today I have got another travel post for you. This one is places to visit near Windermere. I wanted to recommend these places and share some of the photos that I took whilst I was there.

Windermere!

Firstly, I want to share the pictures of Windermere itself. It is a lovely place which is so picturesque. Despite it raining the majority of time we were there, we all really enjoyed ourselves so here are some pictures.

The Lakeland Motor Museum!

The Lakeland Motor Museum is a museum that has both old and new motor vehicles. I found it so interesting to go round and look at how the vehicles have changed and developed over the years. There were some really nice cars in the museum which I loved. There is also some famous motor vehicles that have been used to break records in the past The Campbell Bluebird Exhibition which was really interesting to see. I would definitely recommend going there if you are near Windermere.

Keep an eye out for Part 2 of this post which should be coming soon. If I put all the pictures into one post it would be way to long so I'm writing a part 2. I hope you have enjoyed this post.
