Review: The Fault in Our Stars DVD!

Hello Everyone,

Today I thought that I would review one of my favourite DVDs which is the Fault in our Stars.

I LOVE this film. I watched it for the first time a couple of moths ago after reading the book last summer. I was definitely not disappointed. I absolutely loved the book (which I have already reviewed) so I was really hoping that the film would be just as good. In my opinion the film was just as good as the book; I really enjoyed it. If you want to read my book review of TFIOS click here.

Despite this being quite a sad film, it still had aspects of comedy and plenty of romance which I love because it make it much easier to watch. It is emotional to watch but it's a lovely storyline so it's well worth watching. I feel that you really get to connect to the characters like in the book and really get attached them which shows that the actors are doing a very good job.

I would definitely watch it again and it is a film that I would show to all of my friends and watch it over and over again. I personally think that it is better to read the book first because I think its nice to have the element of surprise when your reading a book and that feeling of not knowing what is going to happen next.

I want to tell you a bit about the film but I don't want to give anything away in case you haven't seen it so I have included what it says on the back of the DVD case:

'Hazel (Shailene Woodley) and Gus (Ansel Elgort) share a sarcastic sense of humour, a distaste for convention, and ultimately, a love that will sweep them onto a transformative journey that they - and you - will never forget. Although the two teens face extraordinary challenges, their courage and dedication to each other prove that while life isn't perfect, love is. Laura Dern (TV's Enlightened, The Master) and Willem Dafoe (Out of the Furnace, Spider-Man Films) also star in this powerfully moving film based on John Green's best-selling novel.'

Reviews
Here are a couple of reviews on the film:
  • "Five Stars. We'd give it six if we could" - Sugarscape
  • "Perfection doesn't give it justice" -  An Amazon Customer

I really do love this film and I would watch it over and over again. I think that it's just as good as the book and I think that the actors were cast perfectly and really do the storyline justice. I definitely recommend it so if you would like to buy the film click here where you can get it on Amazon for £6.99. I hope you enjoyed reading this post. :)

My Favourite Things About Spring!

Hello Everyone,

I know that it has been Spring for a while now but I really wanted to do a blog post about my favourite things about Spring.

Picture from Shrewsbury Show last year
So, here are some of my favourite things about Spring.

Firstly, there are lots of baby animals during the Spring which I love. It's so cute to see all of the little lambs and foals running around in the fields. This is definitely a favourite of mine and you can always tell that it's Spring when you see lots of baby animals running around the fields.

There are also so many flowers in Spring. I love that all of the flowers start to grow which makes everything look so much prettier and brighter and the garden looks so nice at this time of year.

Another thing that I love about Spring is that I find it so much easier to choose an outfit in the morning because the weather is a bit warmer so you don't have to wear as many layers. I also love Spring fashion trends.

Another Spring favourite for me is the longer and lighter nights. I LOVE being able to stay out in the garden for longer in the evening. It's nice to get some fresh air rather than being stuck in the house from the moment you get home. I also love the fact that it gets light earlier in the morning as it makes it so much easier to get up and makes me feel much more motivated and positive.

A final favourite for me is that the weather starts to get a bit better which makes it easier to go out and do things. I have done a lot more walking around the village recently with my family and I love it. Also, better weather seems to make everyone much more positive and happy and you seem to do a lot more when the weather is nice.

I hope you liked this blog post. I would loved to know what your favourite things about Spring are or if you like any of the same things as me so feel free to leave a comment. Also, as always feel free to leave a comment with any requests of what blog posts you would like me to do as I would love to try and do them. :)

Exercise Quotes!

Hello Everyone,

The other day I was lacking motivation so I went on twitter and found some motivational fitness quotes to try and encourage me to get motivated. I really liked the ones I found so I thought I would share them with you today.
  1. Strive for progress not perfection.
  2. Excuses don't burn calories.
  3. Strong is the new skinny.
  4. Once you control your mind, you can conquer your body.
  5. The pain you feel today will be the strength you feel tomorrow.
  6. Don't stop when it hurts, stop when you're done.
I hope you like these quotes. I do enjoy exercise but sometimes it's hard to get motivated so I like these because I find them very motivating. If you want to read some none-exercise quotes then click on either My Favourite Quotes! or My Favourite Quotes 2! to see some of my favourites.

I hope you've liked this blog post. :)

My Top Tips for Nice Nails!

Hello Everyone,

Today I thought that I would do a blog post about how to keep your nails looking nice. These are just a few tips that I use to keep my nails in good condition so I hope these tips help you.

Nail Care!
  • File them regularly.
  • Use nail strengthening nail varnish or nail strengthening hand cream to keep you nails strong and to prevent them from breaking.
  • Push your cuticles back to keep your nails in a nice condition

Tips for Longer Lasting Painted Nails!
  • Use a base coat of clear nail varnish - This helps to prevent staining on the nails from dark colours and makes it much easier to remove. It also makes the surface smooth for when you apply the colour.
  • Always apply two coats - This is especially important if you are applying a light colour. This ensures that your nails have a smooth finish and are a good coverage.
  • Apply a top clear coat - This helps your nails to last longer and means that they chip less. It also means that you have a smooth finish.

Top Tips for Nails in General!
  • Make sure you allow time for your nails to dry because it is so annoying when you smudge them. Make sure you have plenty of spare time to paint them and find something to distract you from rushing the process like watching TV.
  • If you don't have time to paint your nails, just apply a quick drying, clear coat to make your nails look smooth and pretty.
  • Buy good quality nail varnish to ensure that your nails don't chip straight away. Not all good quality nail varnishes are expensive. I have done a blog post on Barry M nail varnishes which aren't that expensive and are my favourite. If you would like to read that post click here.
I hope you have found these tips helpful. It's all stuff that I do to try and keep my nails in the best possible condition. I hope you've liked this post. :)
