Blogmas!

Hello Everyone,

This is just a short blog post to let you know that I will be doing Blogmas this year leading up to Christmas. I have watched YouTubers do Vlogmas in which they Vlog everyday of the lead up until Christmas and I love them so I thought why not do Blogmas. I don't know if anyone has done this before but I thought I'd try it anyway.

Basically, what I am going to attempt to do is post a different blog post everyday up until Christmas day that is Christmas related. However, I will not be logging on Christmas day as I will be spending time with my family & usually stay off the internet. I think this will be a nice way to get us all into the Christmas spirit and it will also help you to find out what my favourite things about Christmas are and why I enjoy this time of year so much.

I absolutely love winter, particularly Christmas, so I always try to do as many festive things as possible so this is just another way of getting into the Christmas spirit for me. It's not even December and I'm already wearing Christmas jumpers and listening to all of the Christmas songs so I hope this helps to get you feeling festive too.

So, if you're a lover of all things Christmas just like me, keep an eye on my blog throughout the month of December for a variety of Christmas themed blog posts.

I hope you like this idea. I can't wait to try and do it.

Warm Me Up For Winter Tag!

Hello Everyone,

Today I felt like doing another Tag so I decided to do the 'Warm Me Up For Winter Tag.' I hope you enjoy it.

What is your favourite type of hot chocolate?
This might sound a bit boring but my favourite type of hot chocolate is just the normal Cadburys one. It's so nice.

What are your favourite pjs, fluffy socks & slippers.
I like any pjs that are christmassy at the moment especially if they're fluffy because it makes them so much more cozy. I don't really have a favourite pair of fluffy because I have too many to choose a favourite. My favourite slippers are my Joules (LINK) ones because they're so soft and comfy.

Favourite thing about Winter?
My favourite thing about Winter is the cosy nights at home. It's getting dark by the time I get home now so it's just so nice to get straight into my pjs and cwtch up and watch TV. Another Winter favourite of mine is listening to Christmas music as it is honestly my favourite type of music.

Favourite Winter lip products?
  • Rimmel Kate Moss - 08
  • Jack Wills Lip Crayons in Red & Purple
Favourite Winter Candle>
The Clean Cotton Yankee Candle

Favourite cozy jumper?
One that was bought for me from Dorothy Perkins. It's pink and so warm and comfortable.

Favourite Scarf?
My tartan blanket scarf from Marks & Spencer. It's the softest thing ever.

Favourite Bath Bomb?
All of my favourite bath bombs are from Lush. They are...
  • The Comforter
  • Butter Ball
  • Think Pink
  • Northern Lights
Favourite Winter scent?
Marc Jacobs Daisy Perfume

What do you like about Winter?
I like everything about Winter. It's my favourite season.

Favourite Winter Movie?
Arther Christmas, A Christmas Carol & Father of the Bride.

Do you like the snow?
YES!!!! Snow is literally my favourite thing. Every year I hope for snow at Christmas.

So they are my answers to the Warm Me Up Winter Tag questions. Why don't you answer one of these questions in the comments so I can read your answers. Hope you enjoyed reading this post.

The Rhug Estate!

Hello Everyone,

Today I am going to talk to you about a place I visited recently, the Rhug Estate. I went here not so long ago, had a look around and had some lunch in the restaurant there.

There was a little farm shop there which we browsed round.it was really nice so I took a few pictures. I thought you . Might like to have a look at them so here they are.

We then had some lunch in the restaurant there. All of the meals are based on bison meat which is obviously something you don't get everywhere so I was interested to see what it was like. There were plenty of other options of meat if you don't fancy the bison as well as vegetarian options.

As a family we had a variety of things. On our table someone had pork medallions, others had bison burgers and I personally had the risotto. We were all really pleased with our meals as they were full of taste, good portion sizes and beautifully presented. The service was excellent; the waitresses were friendly and the food didn't take too long to arrive so we were all very happy. Here are some pictures of our meals.

I would definitely visit the Rhug Estate again and would recommend it to any of you who are ever in that area. As well as being a nice place, it provides a slightly different eating experience by serving bison which makes it all the more special.

After our meal we walked around the premises to see if we could see any bison. Unfortunately we couldn't find them but we spotted them in a nearby field on the way home.

Click  here to go to their website. Have a look of its something you fancy. I would recommend it. Bison isn't your usual meat so what is the strangest food you've ever tried? Let me know in the comments.

Uni Or Not?

Hello Everyone,

"It always seems impossible until it is done."

I have come to a point in my life where a lot of my friends are starting to think about applying to uni and which one they want to go to but this isn't what I want to do. For quite a while now I haven't wanted to go to university. It just isn't for me. I cannot comment on what is the best option as I haven't experienced it yet but I just wanted to do a blog post considering the options. I feel that quite a lot of people go to uni after sixth form and that seems to be what is encouraged in school but it isn't the right option for everyone.

I think that university is good for some people who know that there is a course that they want to do or if there is a degree that they need for a certain job. A lot of my friends want to go to uni and I think that's great because it is what they want to do. Also, a lot of my family have been to uni and have really enjoyed it. Therefore, by doing this blog post I am not trying to say that uni isn't a good choice because it is for some people and if you think that uni is the right option for you I would encourage you to do that.

But, I don't think that the other options are talked about as much. I mean there are plenty of things you can do after sixth form apart from go to uni including
  • Going to collage to further your knowledge of a particular course
  • Getting an apprenticeship
  • Overseas study
  • Voluntary work
  • Gap Years
  • Getting a job
I personally want to go into employment because I feel that I have had enough of learning in a school environment and I am ready to starting earning my own money and to learn more life skills. I think that it is important to remember that just because you don't go to uni doesn't mean you can't get a good job. Often working your way up from the bottom can get you to a very good job.

I just wanted to mention some of the other options in case some of you are struggling of what you want to do after sixth form. Sometimes it can seem that uni is the main options and other options are forgotten about but you've got to do what is best for you. I hope you have liked this post. Thanks for reading.

Autumn Favourites 2015!

Hello Everyone,

I thought it was time for another 'Favourites' blog post as I haven't done one for a while. So here are a few of the things I having been enjoying recently.

The first thing I have been loving this month is Netflix. I tend to go through stages with Netflix. Sometimes I love it and am constantly watching it, other times I can't find anything to watch. After watching PLL during the Summer I struggled to find something good to watch. After a while I found Once Upon A Time. I absolutely love this series. I am only on the second series at the moment but I do love it. It's based on Disney stories but with a twist. I don't want to give anything away but give it a try because I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Another series on Netflix I have been loving is Outnumbered. I have seen it before but I found it on Netflix so started watching again. It's just such an easy thing to watch and it's SO funny.

A snack I having love throughout Autumn is French Fancies. I used to love them when I was little. They're so tasty. My favourite one is the the pink one.

If I am honest, I'm not usually a fan of Topshop but this month I have found a some really nice jumpers in there which were so so soft & they were quite reasonably prices as well. I'd definitely recommend having a look at Topshop's Autumn/ Winter range.

I have never really been one to do much for Halloween but this year I have been enjoying it. I have posted a few Halloween-related blog posts & I have a few parties coming up so I'm looking forward to getting dressed up and celebrating Halloween.

A book that I really enjoyed this month is If I Stay. It was a book that I really got into and it was a really interesting story. I loved it. To be honest I have really been enjoying reading in general recently. I definitely recommend If I stay. If you would like a book review let me know in the comments.

A film that I really loved this month is San Andreas. I bought this on DVD and watched it the other day and I really enjoyed it. It was so exciting and I would watch it again.

Fashion-wise I have been loving wearing ripped jeans. I think they look really good and just add a little extra to an outfit. I have also been enjoying wearing my chelsea boots. They're so good for Autumn and they look really nice. Also, they're so comfy.

I have really enjoyed watching Saffron Barker's YouTube Channel. I think her videos are so good and I look forward to watching them every Wednesday. I also really like her Vlogging Channel. I have really been enjoying watching her Centre Parcs Vlogs as Centre Parcs is one of my favourite places ever and it brings back so many memories for me.

Another favourite of mine for Autumn may be a bit of a strange one but I have been really enjoying driving. I really enjoy driving to different places & I just find it quite fun.

Finally, I have been loving the Maybelline Rocket Volume Mascara. It's so good for making your eyelashes look really long and thick without getting all clumpy. I definitely recommend it.

So they are my Autumn Favourites. All products mentioned will be listed on the product directory on my blog. I hope you enjoyed this post. What have you been loving this month? Let me know in the comments.

Book Review: Paper Towns!

Hello Everyone,

Today I have another book review for you. This one is on Paper Towns by John Green. I read this book recently and really enjoyed it so I wanted to review it and recommend it to you so you can read it if you haven't already.

Here is the blurb to give you an idea of what the book is about:

"Quentin Jacobsen has spent a lifetime loving the magnificently adventurous Margo Roth Spiegelman from afar. So when she cracks open a window and climbs back into his life–dressed like a ninja and summoning him for an ingenious campaign of revenge–he follows.
After their all-nighter ends and a new day breaks, Q arrives at school to discover that Margo, always an enigma, has now become a mystery. But Q soon learns that there are clues–and they’re for him. Urged down a disconnected path, the closer he gets, the less Q sees of the girl he thought he knew."

I really enjoyed this book. I have read one of John Green's books before. I read The Fault in Our Stars (Review HERE) and loved it so I thought I might like this one too. I definitely was not disappointed. This book has everything I want in a book - comedy, romance and reality. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. i really got attached the characters and it was gripping all of the way through. As soon as I picked it up I could not put it down because each chapter ended with a cliffhanger. I loved this book and I'm sure you would too.

Reviews!
Here are some reviews off Amazon so you can see what other people thought of the book.
  • Truly a page turner
  • This was a great story. Short and sweet! Thanks for another great read Mr. Green!
If you would like to purchase this book online click here to go to Amazon where you can buy it. I definitely recommend it so I hope that if you do decide to read it you enjoy it too. If you have already read Paper Towns who was you favourite character? Let me know in the comments.

Passing Your Driving Theory Test!

Hello Everyone,

Today I thought I do a blog post all about your driving theory test because I have taken & passed mine. I know it's quite a scary time so I thought it might help if you have this to read so you feel fully prepared for it.

Revision

You definitely need to revise for your theory test because it's a completely new skill that you need to learn. I used two things to revise which I found worked for me & helped me to pass my test first time.

The first method of revision I used was reading the Highway Code. I found that this was the best way to make sure that I had read everything there is know for your theory. If you would like to purchase the Highway Code online click here to be taken to somewhere where you can buy it. It's really cheap at just £1.49 so it's definitely worth buying. It may seem boring to just have to read a whole book but I actually found it quite interesting & learned a lot of new things.

The second thing I used was the DVSA Theory Test App. I found this really helpful because it has a study section where you read what you need to for each section. There is also a practice section where you can practice all of the questions for each separate category. The you can go on to the Mock Test and practice your test. I did a couple of mock tests a day leading up to my theory to make sure I was confident. It also has a section where you can practice the hazard perception part of you theory. I found this app really helpful. It is quite an expensive app at £4.99 but I really think it was worth it & I would recommend it.

Alternatively, if you would prefer not to spend the money on the app you can take mock tests on the DVLA website. Click here you go to a place where you can have a go at a mock test.

What To Expect!

It is likely that you will be very nervous when you take you theory test as it's is something you have never experienced before. I personally was so nervous because I really wanted to pass but I was also nervous about what the whole experience would be like and what I would have to do when I got to the theory test centre as it was completely new experience to me.

To help calm my nerves I looked on YouTube for videos that tell you all about you theory test. I found one that was really helpful so click here to watch that.

Timing!

Make sure that you get to the theory test centre in plenty of time so that you aren't rushing about and getting in a panic. I personally arrived an hour before as we had to find the test centre so I didn't want to end up getting lost and being late.

Read The Rules!

When you go into the test centre they will give you a list of rules. Make sure you read them. They will help you to fully understand what is going to happen during your test. If there is anything you don't understand then don't be afraid to ask the receptionist what the rules mean. I'm sure she/ he wouldn't mind explaining them to you.

Go Prepared!

Look on the theory test website to see what you need to take. Without some of the important details you may not be able to sit your test. It will also tell you what you can't take into the test with you e.g. your phone, watches, etc. Have a look so you are fully prepared for your test.

Booking Your Test!

Make sure you book your test well in advance if you want to get it as soon as possible. There can be quite a waiting list at a lot of test centres so make sure you book your test a while before. Also, if you fail you theory first time make sure you book it as soon as you can if you're ready to re-take it. I believe you have to wait 3 working days before booking another test but if you feel ready to try again book it as soon as you can. Being orgainsed means that you don't have to wait as long.

They are all the things I wanted to tell you about regarding your driving theory test. I hope you found them helpful. If you have any questions feel free to leave them in the comments and I will try and answer them for you. I hope to do a similar post for your driving practical test so keep and eye out for that in the future. If you are sitting your theory any time soon, Good Luck. I'm sure you'll do fine.

My Pamper Night Routine - Autumn 2015!

 Hello Everybody,

Today I wanted to tell you about what I do as my pamper routine when I'm having a Pamper Night. The reason I am doing this post is because I tend to have more pamper nights during the winter and I had one recently and really enjoyed it so I thought I would tell you all about it. So here is my pamper routine/ what I do on a pamper night.

So the first thing I will do is light some candles. These are two of my favourites at the moment. They smell so much and they're not too expensive either. I'm not a huge candle lover. i don't light them very often but I do like to light them when I am having a pamper as it just adds to the relaxing atmosphere.

During my pamper evenings I always prefer to have a bath as it's more of a treat because I usually have showers because they are much quicker and easier. In my bath I will use either of the bubble baths above (Zoella Soak Opera or I Love.. to just drift away) or I will use a lush bath bomb. The Lush product that I always love is the Comforter which is a bubble bar. A bubble bar is one that you break a bit off and crumble it under running water and it creates loads of bubbles as well a turning your bath a lovely colour & it smells gorgeous. Before I get into the bath I apply a face mask (usually the one pictured below) which is a real treat for my skin.

Once my bath is run I will settle down and relax and I will either read a book or watch Netflix. I usually take a cup of tea into the bathroom with me as well. Bliss!

After relaxing in the bath I usually jump in the shower to carry on with all things I need to do in order to care for my hair and face and body. I like to go in the shower to wash my hair in particular as it never feels fully clean after washing it in the bath. Once I get in the shower the first thing I do is remove my face mask. I then use the Zoella Body Scrub which I absolutely LOVE. It is one of the nicest things I have ever smelled.

Next I will wash my hair. I use the Aussie Miracle Shine Shampoo & Miracle Moist Conditioner. I highly recommend these. They're really good for you hair and the smell lush.

After that I wash my body with the Jack Wills Body wash which I had loads of for Christmas so I have been using it for a while. Good job it smells so nice.

The final thing I will do in the shower is use my facial wash which I have raved about non-stop on my blog. I absolutely LOVE it. This is the Body Shop Seaweed Deep Cleansing facial wash. To read my full review on this click here.

Once I am out of the shower I will use the creams in the pictures to moisturise. I use the Seaweed mattifying day cream on my face, the Daily Body Lotion on my body and the Passionfruit body butter on my feet.

That is my pamper routine everybody. I hope you enjoyed this post. All of the products will be listed in the product directory on my blog. What is your pamper routine essential? Let me know in the comments.

* If you're wondering why I have posted twice today. Its because I used the Blogger app to post on Monday but for some reason something went wrong and the post didn't show up on my blog so I have posted two today so I can get back on track with my schedule. Sorry for not posting Monday*
