Updated What's In My Handbag - April 2016!

Hello Everyone,

Today I thought I would do an updated 'What's in my handbag' post because I haven't done one in a while and I think they are quite fun to write about.

Since my last 'what's in my bag' post I have bought a new Michael Kors handbag. Having a nice handbag has really helped me to look after it and keep it well organised and tidy. Therefore, i have changed the organisation of my handbag a lot. I have also got into the habit of clearing it out  after every time I use it to make sure I get rid of any unnecessary 'bits and bobs' that I have gathered throughout the day and to ensure that it is well organised ready for the next time I use it. My bag is so much more minimal now so let's just get on with telling you what is inside.

The first thing I have in my bag is the Zoella Tutti Fruity Beauty Pouch. I'm not the type of person who feels the need to carry a make up bag with me but there are some certain beauty-related essential that I feel are necessary to have on me. I thought that keeping them all in this little pouch was a good idea because it's all in one place, easy to find and more organised. In this pouch I have:
  • A Nail File
  • Anti Bacterial Hand Sanitiser
  • A Pocket Mirror
  • Vaseline
  • Tissues
  • 4Head
  • Plasters
  • Lip Balm
  • Hair Bobbles
These are what I think of as the essentials to have with you when you go out. They are the things that are permanently in the pouch but I may add things in on the day. For example, I might put the lipstick I am wearing on the day in there too.

Here is a list of the other things that are in my handbag most of the time.
  • My Purse - In my purse I have cash, coins & cards.
  • My Phone
  • An Umbrella
  • Sunglasses
  • A Book
  • My Camera
  • A Bottle of Water
Throughout the day things do get thrown into my bag (reciepts, jewellery, snacks) depending on where I am and what I am doing but I always make sure to clear it out at the end of the day so it only contains what is needed.

Click here to see my last 'What's in my bag post'. You'll be able to see how much I have cut down on what I carry in my bag. I hope you have liked this post.

Organising Your Wardrobe!

Hello Everyone,

I think it's fair to say that we've all got an item of clothing in our wardrobes that we never wear or that we've all probably bought something and never worn it. I know I have. Today, I wanted to give you some tips on sorting through you wardrobe so it's organised and junk-free.

I'll be honest I'm a bit of a hoarder when it comes to clothes. I don't like to get rid of them because I feel like I might wear them again one day. But once I have got rid of them I feel much better and I don't miss them. Here are some tips to help you sort out your wardrobe.

My first tip is if there is something that you're not sure whether to keep or not, keep it and then if you don't wear it within the next 6 months then the likelihood is that you're not going to wear it again so get rid of it.

Another tip is to turn all of your hangers one way and then once you've worn an item of clothing put the hanger the other way. Whatever items of clothing are still the original way after a year you should get rid of because if you haven't worn them in a year then you probably won't wear them again.

Organise your wardrobe into sections. So have coats, then jumper, then t-shirts, then trousers and so on. This will make it much easier to find what you're looking for especially if you're rushing to get ready in the morning.

Organising the sections into colours once they are organised into types will also help you to find the specific item you have in mind. As well as this, it makes your wardrobe look really pretty and well organised.

I know that I've got a couple of items in my wardrobe that I love but I don't have anything that will go with them so I can't wear them. To solve this problem, I have made a list of the type of thing I need to go with them to make an outfit so next time I go shopping or have a bit of spare money and want to treat myself I can go and get what I need and then I'll be able to wear them.

Be ruthless. I know it's hard but try to go with your first thought. If you instantly think 'I haven't worn that in ages and should probably get rid of it' then get rid of it. Once you've put it into the pile of clothes your getting rid of, forget about it so you're not tempted to have it back.

Give them to charity. if you know that your clothes are going to be put to good use and go to help someone it makes it a lot easier to get rid of them. Take them to your nearest charity shop. I'm sure they'll really appreaciate it.

I sorted my wardrobe out the other week & I just found that I had too many clothes and not enough storage. To resolve this problem, I bought some storage boxes that will fit under my bed and I've put all of my summer clothes in them as I won't be needing them for a while but they're still easily accessible if I need them one day. This created so much more room. If you don't have room under your bed for storage, maybe a clothing rail might be a good alternative if you have the room for that. They would be especially good to put coats on as they take up so much space in your wardrobe.

They are all the tips I have for organising your wardrobe. I hope they have helped. Believe me you'll feel so much better for having a cleaner, more organised wardrobe and it will make getting ready so much easier. If you have any tips you would like to share, feel free to leave a comment.

Update!

Hello Everyone,

I feel like I need to do a short post just update you on where I have been and what's been going on with my blog. I'm really sorry that I haven't posted in a while. I feel really bad about it but I just haven't had time recently. I've been really busy with school lately and when it's been the school holidays I've been really busy spending time with family and friends. I'm going to try my hardest to get back on track with blogging now. I love blogging so I haven't been happy that I haven't really had time to do it lately.

Please let me know in the comments if there are any blog posts that you would like me to do. I have loads of ideas written down in my 'blogging book' so I'm going to try and get round to writing them but it's always helpful to have new ideas. I want to write about things that you're going to find interesting to read so feel free to leave any requests you have down in the comments.

I can't see that I am going to have that much free time for a while because I have exams coming up. However, I obviously still want to post on my blog but I think it will have to be a case of posting as and when I can. I hope that's ok with you. I have big plans for the summer when my exams are over so you can look forward to those posts & I'll try and get back to posting on a Monday, Wednesday and on the weekend then.

Finally, if any of you are wondering, I will be posting the final post in the 'Back to Rosewood' series ASAP so don't worry if you're waiting to hear what I thought about the season finale of Pretty Little Liars.

I hope all of this is ok with you. I'll try and post as much as I can. Thank you for reading.
